Emotional Resilience – Presentation to the Universities Council for the Education of Teachers (UCET)
Two members of the CLL team have been invited by Universities' Council for the Education of Teachers (UCET) to share with other ITE colleagues, their work on developing resilience in trainee teachers using emotional resilience and techniques found in the study of mindfulness. The presentation will take place in London on Friday 8 February 2019, with Ellen Buttler, Director of Initial Teacher Training and Essential Skills Programmes and Dean Howes, Teaching Fellow at the Centre sharing how students can better understand how to develop their ability to cope during emotionally challenging and stressful times.
CLL student presents dissertation research at international conference
Shaheen Akhtar, who has recently completed her MA in Career Development and Coaching Studies, travelled to Padua, Italy, in early October along with Course Director and dissertation supervisor Gill Frigerio to attend a 3 day conference on ‘Decent Work, Equity and Inclusion’.

Dr Barbara Merrill to coordinate European Society for Research on the Education of Adults Conference
Dr Barbara Merrill will be coordinating this year’s Access, Learning Careers and Identities Network Conference run by the European Society for Research on the Education of Adults (ESREA), which has now launched a call for papers.
Centre for the Study of Safety and Wellbeing (SWELL) supports International Women's Week event
Principal Research Fellow, Dr Ravi Thiara (SWELL) took part in a Gender Based Violence Day, held on 13 March at the Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations, Coventry University.
The event was held to celebrate International Women's Week and focused upon the networks of support that exist in the City of Coventry and how they can work to empower and enable those affected.
