Message from the Head of Directorate

Welcome to Warwick Applied Health, which promotes a culture where all staff and students flourish and achieve their full potential. We work across disciplines integrating psycho-social, organisational and bio-medical perspectives in our research and teaching.

Our research focus is on the design and evaluation of interventions (behavioural, medical, technological and organisational), plus how the application of knowledge in these areas changes clinical practice and ultimately health outcomes. Our research includes applied health services research, methodological development/application of health sciences, evidence synthesis as well as relevant theoretical enquiry.

We are actively engaged with teaching and training for medical students and postgraduate taught courses, and have a thriving higher degrees programme drawing on our research strengths, with particular focus on public health, care in community settings, mental health and global health. We want to work with our NHS partners to support the development of healthcare models which are fit for the future, attuned for frailty and integrated around people with acute and long term health needs.
