New blogs about ReWAGE projects published

Our experts have been spreading the word about ReWAGE’s projects recently and have taken up invitations to publish blogs about their work on partner sites.

In this blog for the OECD Cogito site, Peter Dickinson of the Warwick Institute for Employment Research, talks about his report for ReWAGE on the work that England’s Mayoral Combined Authorities are doing with local employers to promote good work through the publication of good/fair work Charters. These Charters encourage employers to champion good work by setting the standards expected on key issues of fair working conditions including earnings quality, job security and career progression.

And Professor Chris Forde has recently published blogs on both the Work Foundation website and Digit Blog outlining the findings of a report he produced for ReWAGE in partnership with the Migration Observatory at Oxford, which looks at the reasons for labour shortages in the UK. The report finds that while Brexit is a factor, the ongoing impact of the pandemic, international sector-specific labour shortages, higher inactivity levels, and an increase in early retirement are other important contributory factors.
