Warwick Doctoral Access Scholarships - Sanctuary

Award Details

PGR applications will be considered at any time. There are a limited numbers and not all applications will be successful.

  • Length of funding: 4 years (pro rata for part time)
  • The full payment of academic fees
  • Research Training and Support Grant of £5,000 (one-off)
  • Value covers a maintenance stipend in line with UKRI rates

How do applicants apply?

In order to be considered for this funding, applicants must have completed ALL of the following steps:

  • Submit an Admissions Application by 24 February 2023 at the very latest. Note that it can take up to 48 hours for a 7 digit student ID to be generated by IT, this is required to access to scholarship application system.
  • Applicants will need to submit an application form by the 27th February deadline.

How do I nominate a candidate?

Your department's designated nominator(s) will be contacted by the Doctoral College with the relevant information. These scholarships will be awarded to students of any nationality who hold one of the following statuses as granted by the UK government:

  • Refugee Status
  • Asylum Seeker
  • Definite Leave to Remain as a result of an asylum seeker application
  • Limited Leave to Remain as a result of an asylum seeker application
  • Humanitarian protection as a result of an asylum seeker application
  • You were included as a dependant (spouse/child) on an application for asylum. Please note: Spouses/civil partners must have been the spouse/civil partner on the date on which the asylum application was made. Children/step-children must have been aged under 18 on the date on which the asylum application was made.

Midlands Graduate School Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) ESRC Studentships for entry October 2024/2025

The Midlands Graduate School DTP Studentships competition is now closed for entry in October 2024. Details of studentships for entry in October 2025 will be available from the Midlands Graduate School DTP website. when available. ESRC-funded studentships are available for outstanding home/EU PhD applicants. Eligible applicants to the IER MPhil/PhD in Employment Research are invited to apply for one of these scholarships within the Warwick Management and Business pathway of the DTP. Chancellor's International Scholarships for entry October 2024

The University of Warwick Chancellor's International Scholarship Competition Chancellors' International Scholarship for entry in October 2024. Details of the competition for entry in October 2024 will be available from the Warwick Doctoral College from 26 September 2023 and opens for applications from 19 October 2023. The scholarships are highly competitive and are available for outstanding overseas PhD applicants. The closing date for scholarship applications is 14 December 2023 in the intended year of entry. If you are considering applying to the MPhil/PhD in Employment Research programme and also wish to apply for the Chancellor's International Scholarship please email ierphd at warwick dot ac dot uk attaching a CV and your research proposal BEFORE submitting your application form so that we can advise and support you. Note, the course application has to be submitted before applying for the Chancellor's International Scholarship, which has a deadline of 12 December 2023.

Up to 30 China Scholarship Council - University of Warwick Scholarships available to outstanding Chinese PGR applicants

Award Details

We're pleased to offer up to 30 joint funded PhD scholarships in collaboration with China Scholarships Council. Awards made for entry in Autumn 2024 will include the following:

  • The University will cover the full payment of overseas tuition fees for the duration of the CSC funding period and a stipend enhancement;
  • China Scholarships Council will provide a maintenance stipend and return international airfare between the UK and China for successful applicants.
  • Successful candidates will be required to return to China after completing their PhD.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Meet the eligibility criteria set out by the CSC.
  • Hold a Peoples Republic of China Passport (applicants from Hong Kong or Taiwan are not eligible) and either be permanently resident in China or studying overseas. Those working overseas are not eligible.
  • Where students have prior experience of studying overseas (including the UK) it is important to check eligibility rules on the China Scholarship Council website, this includes Current 1st year PhD students and those in year '1' of a 1+3.
  • Hold an unconditional* offer for a full time PhD at the University of Warwick commencing in October 2024 OR;
  • Be currently enrolled in the first year of a PhD or MPhil/PhD at the University. You must be within the first 12 months of enrolment of a PhD or MPhil/PhD at the University in October 2024.

*Outstanding conditions accepted by CSC are; completion of a degree or ATAS.

IER Scholarships

On occasion, IER is able to offer a limited number of scholarships to exceptional candidates for the MPhil/PhD in Employment Research.
