UK-Australia education and research opportunities expand — Warwick Monash Alliance enters rolling agreement

The Monash Warwick Alliance — which pioneered a new model for global higher education partnerships when established in 2012— is entering a bold new era, as the two universities sign a rolling agreement with no end date, enabling more deeply embedded collaboration and wider transnational opportunities for students and staff.


EUTOPIA already co-teaching European PhDs as Erasmus+ project commences

EUTOPIA, a next-generation teaching and research community of six European universities, which was successful in its selection to be part of the Erasmus+ ‘European Universities’ Programme this year, officially begins its project today, 1st December 2019.

 


Uncertainty and the financial markets explored by Warwick faculty at Bank of England conference supported by Rebuilding Macroeconomics

Researchers from Warwick Economics and Warwick Business School are among the speakers taking part in a major policy conference organized in partnership with the Bank of England and Rebuilding Macroeconomics. The conference will bring together international researchers from around the globe to discuss whether, and how, economists and policymakers can replace the notion of ‘rational economic man’ with theoretical and empirical models that recognize its limitations.


Female caregivers in war zones need recognition and support – new research

In conflict zones around the world, women’s health and wellbeing will decline further, unless caregivers are given better state social protection, according to collaborative intercontinental research by the University of Warwick (UK) and Monash University (Australia).


Warwick researchers shortlisted for major prize

Two projects led by Warwick researchers have been shortlisted for the 2019 Newton Prize, a prestigious award which celebrates outstanding international research partnerships aimed at tackling global challenges. A project exploring innovative cancer drugs and one studying the impact of forced evictions on economically underprivileged women in Jakarta are among the final 20 which will now be reviewed by a panel of expert judges.

 


£500,000 investment in European scholarships enable joint PhDs at Warwick, Paris and Brussels

Promising PhD candidates will have the opportunity to carry out their research and training in both the UK and mainland Europe, thanks to a new £500,000 joint investment in scholarships from the University of Warwick, l’Université Paris Seine (PSU) and Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB).
