The University of Warwick will award Alex Horne, the celebrated comedian, writer, and creator of the hit television show "Taskmaster," with an Honorary Doctorate next year in recognition of his efforts and commitment to fostering inclusive education. This is as a result of his instrumental support in growing the "School Tasking" initiative.

The University of Warwick is delighted to announce new honorary graduates as part of the upcoming summer 2023 graduation ceremonies.

The University of Warwick awarded honorary degrees to a number of outstanding individuals this week as part of its winter graduation ceremonies, including the BAFTA award-winning writer behind the hit ‘Nativity’ films and the former CEO at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR).

One of Hong Kong’s top entrepreneurs, Professor Roy Chung, has received an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Warwick UK – his alma mater, and an institution with which he has forged many significant links throughout his career.

Rakie Ayola has received an honorary degree from the University of Warwick for her work in theatre and as a TV actor as well as her production company which aims to increase ethnic representation in the entertainment industry.

A leading figure in the Midlands’ business community, Steven Hollis has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Warwick.

Steven’s career saw him rise through the ranks during three decades at the accountancy firm KPMG, which included time on the company’s boards for the UK, Europe, EMA and as Chair of KPMG’s Midlands practice.

Professor Chunli Bai commented: "Those challenges cannot be addressed by a single scientist, by a single institution, we need international collaboration."

Commenting on receiving the honour, she said: “The MBE was amazing but this is more personal, and it is a great honour to have an honour again!”

A leading Chinese scientist, three significant theatre figures (including a Harry Potter and Doctor Who actor) and a leading Guardian journalist and broadcaster, are just five of the people who will receive honorary degrees from the University of Warwick at its 2019 summer graduation ceremonies in July 2019.

The six new recipients of Honorary Doctorate's from the University of Warwick's have reflected on their careers and pass on advice to students.

Scientist and broadcaster Professor Brian Cox, award-winning BBC journalist Ritula Shah, legendary footballer and campaigner Brendon Batson OBE, business leader and skills advocate Dame Fiona Kendrick, founder of the Positive Youth Foundation Rashid Bhayat and bestselling author and campaigner Ken Follett CBE spoke ahead of their ceremonies.

The University of Warwick has honoured social entrepreneur and youth charity leader, Rashid Bhayat, with an honorary doctorate.

Ken Follett CBE FRSL has been made an Honorary Doctor of Letters by the University of Warwick. The bestselling author received his award, which he described as “a great honour,” on Wednesday 16 January, during the first of the university’s 2019 graduation ceremonies.

In recognition of her outstanding academic achievements in the fields of economic theory, economic history, philosophy, rhetoric, feminism, ethics, and law, Professor McCloskey has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Warwick.

Trailblazing lawyer Dr Julie Maxton has received an honorary doctorate from the University of Warwick. Dr Maxton is Executive Director of the Royal Society, the UK’s oldest learned society, and is the first woman to hold that role.  She was made Honorary Doctor of Laws during Warwick’s summer degree ceremonies.
