Warwick's Quality Processes, Policies and Advice
Over time Warwick has developed a range of processes, policies, advice and guidance that is used centrally and by departments to assure quality. The Framework uses these existing quality processes and policies as its component parts. Some external reference materials that help build quality HE provision are included here as well.
Each stage of Warwick’s work will feature different processes. As such, they should be familiar to experienced Warwick staff, but for new starters or people new to quality roles here, they are:
Regulation 42 Governing Academic Appeals provides a fair procedure for handling academic appeals
Academic Development Centre– offering courses and resources in a range of topics to support learning, teaching and assessment.
Academic Quality and Standards Committee (AQSC)– responsible for developing and implementing policy about external quality assessment operations (including the OfS, QAA and PSRBs). AQSC also develops, monitors and reviews the University’s systems, policies and guidance for assuring and enhancing the academic standards and quality of students’ learning experience.
Academic Regulations cover feedback and assessment, and exam regulations to ensure consistency and fairness. Regulation 11 Academic Integrity sets out the academic misconduct policy and procedure and is supported by the University Guidance on Academic Integrity and the Institutional Approach to the use of Artificial Intelligence and Academic Integrity
Acceptors and Decliners Survey collects student feedback on the recruitment and admissions process.
Access and Participation Plan sets out the goals for ensuring equality of opportunity in relation to access, success and progression.
Warwick's Admissions Statement- an accessible summary of the University’s current undergraduate admissions policies and procedures, for applicants and their advisors.
Admissions Service– Warwick’s advice pages from our Admissions Service team
Apprentice Initial Needs Analysis (INA)- ensures the suitability of the apprentice and course, to determine any RPL adjustment, training or support required.
Assessment Strategy and Good Practice– EPQ guidance on coursework, examinations, group work, presentations, dissertations and projects. Good Practice Guides are available for Providing Feedback to Students on Assessment, Plagiarism and Good Academic Conduct

Education Quality Framework
The Framework brings together, organises and re-expresses The University of Warwick’s (“Warwick” hereafter) existing quality assurance mechanisms into one place. It acts as a formal framework setting out how we assess compliance with internal and external quality standards, primarily the Office for Student’s (OfS) ongoing conditions of registration.
Themes
The framework is arranged thematically, with the quality activities leading to assurance of standards arranged against each theme in three of the four ‘lines’. Linking the themes with the lines are brief expressions of our minimum expectations, informed by QAA’s indicators of quality(PDF) – each individual activity will also have its own aims and expectations expressed in the relevant guidance and process information.
Compliance with OfS B Conditions
This is an at-a-glance chart showing where our activities facilitate compliance with the B conditions. A more comprehensive mapping exercise is in development.
