Discover exciting career opportunities and meet leading legal employers who are eager to connect with students like you. Whether you’re exploring law for the first time or already planning your next steps, this event is designed to help you move forward with confidence.
Chat directly with representatives and alumni to hear what it’s really like to work there; their culture, the opportunities available, and what they look for in applicants. It’s your chance to ask real questions, get honest insights, and leave with advice that can genuinely strengthen your future applications.

About the fair
Which employers are attending?
Go to myAdvantage to access the list of employers attending, browse their profiles and see what opportunities they are offering.
Organisations are listed on the top right hand side of the page. You will be able to view each employer profile to find out more about them, browse vacancies they have listed or click through to their website to find out about more.
Make a note of who you are interested in talking to and prepare for the fair in advance or look at the some of the useful questions to ask if you need a hand to kickstart a conversation on the day.
Before the fair
Preparing for the fair
A little prep goes a long way when it comes to making the most of a careers fair. Here’s some ideas as to how to walk in ready:
- Attend a Prepare for the Fair workshop
- Do your research: Check which employers are attending and shortlist the ones that interest you. Research what they do and what roles they offer.
- Polish your CV: Bring printed copies of your updated CV. Tailor it to the kinds of roles you're aiming for.
- Practice your pitch: Be ready to introduce yourself - who you are, what you’re studying, and what you’re looking for. Keep it short, confident, and clear.
- Prepare questions: Ask about company culture, graduate schemes, or what they look for in candidates. Show genuine interest.
- Review the events tips and etiquette page which is packed full of useful information.
- Dress the part: First impressions count. Aim for smart-casual or professional attire that makes you feel confident. The WorkWear Wardrobe will also be available for you to take away items of clothing on the day.
- Bring a notebook: Jot down names, tips, and follow-up actions. It helps you stay organised and shows you’re serious.
Think of the fair as a launchpad, not just for jobs, but for ideas, connections, and clarity. The more prepared you are, the more beneficial and productive your experience will be.

Accessibility and support at the fair
We want to make sure that you have every opportunity to attend events run by Student Opportunity. That’s why we have a quiet half-hour, before the advertised start time of the Fair, should students with disabilities, access needs or long-term health conditions wish to visit the fairs before they get very busy. If you have additional needs or require support on the day, please email employerconnect@warwick.ac.uk and we would be happy to support you further.
We will have a quiet time available before the fair and we'll open this for booking nearer the time.
What to ask?
It can be daunting speaking to employers at a Fair but remember plenty of help is on hand. Some example questions for employers include:
- What are the firm’s plans for the next 5 years?
- Why did you personally decide to work for this firm?
- What has been the most interesting project you have worked on?
- What happens in a typical day?
- How would you describe the firm’s culture and environment?
- What are the key issues within the industry?

After the fair
Make the most of attending
The fair might be over, but your career journey is just getting started. Here’s how to follow up and make the most of the connections you’ve made:
- Reflect and review: Take a moment to jot down who you spoke to, what you learned, and which opportunities excited you most.
- Follow up: If you collected business cards or contact details, send a polite thank-you email. Mention something specific from your conversation to help them remember you.
- Connect online: Add recruiters or company reps on LinkedIn with a short message. It’s a great way to stay in their network and keep up with future openings.
- Tailor your applications: Use what you learned to refine your CV and cover letters. Highlight relevant skills and show genuine interest in the roles you discussed.
- Stay organised: Create a simple tracker for applications, deadlines, and follow-ups. It’ll help you stay on top of things and avoid missing key dates.
- Keep the momentum: Don’t wait — start applying, researching, and reaching out. The energy you gained from the fair is your fuel.
