Alejandra Yanes

Real Estate investment banker, RBC
WBS, BSc International Management

I am Alejandra Yanes, a Real Estate investment banker at RBC. I was born and raised in Spain, but moved to the UK when I was 18 to study university. I graduated from Warwick Business School with a degree in International Management and have also completed a Fixed Income summer course at LSE. I’ve been at RBC for over a year now and have previously taken part in the RBC summer internship programme, as well as the RBC spring insight programme. What I admire the most about my job at RBC is being able to work at a highly reputable organization, at the same time as learn next to outstanding and humble professionals. Besides Real Estate I also enjoy figure skating, playing with my dog and hiking. Looking forward to sharing my experience and answering any questions.

James Applewhite

Vice President, Real Money FX Sales, Natwest Markets
University of Warwick, Economics

I studied Economics at the University of Warwick, graduating in 2012. I started on the Graduate Scheme at RBS (as NatWest Markets was then known) in 2014, rotating around all teams in Foreign Exchange for 15 months before choosing to join the Financial Institutions Sales team. I have worked on that team ever since, and now focus solely on ‘Real Money’ clients (Asset Managers & Pension Funds). The role is incredibly varied and always interesting. Currencies are very dependent on global politics and economics, so there is always something going on and something new to learn. My role largely involves speaking to clients, discussing financial markets with them, and executing FX trades on their behalf with our teams of traders.

She joined the desk in 2016 after completing the Global Markets summer internship and has recently moved to Paris to become the main ABS sales coverage for European account base. She holds a BA in French and History of Art from UCL and prior to joining Nomura also completed an internship at Bloomberg.

Philip Omatsone

Securitised Products Analyst, Natwest Markets
Warwick, Economics

I’ve been at Natwest Markets for just over a year now, joining as part of the 2019 Graduate Intake after finishing my Economic Degree. I’m globally minded and have spent a lot of my life working, studying and travelling abroad – notably half a year teaching in South Africa and a study abroad year in Germany, as well as 4 months travelling before starting at Natwest Markets. I’m also a big sports fan and player; especially tennis, basketball and football - definitely looking forward to the day when we can travel and watch live sports again!
