Maximise your employability after a year abroad

A young person looks at a map on a steet

You’ve returned from a transformative year abroad, had a great time, made some new friends and developed skills that will help you in the future. By taking a year abroad, you are more attractive to employers. Graduates who have taken a year abroad have higher employment rates and higher average earnings (Universities UK International, 2025).

However, taking what you have learnt from the year abroad, translating it into something employers value, and into a future that you want to aim for, is not always straightforward.

Returning to Warwick

There are many ways you can continue to make the most of your year abroad once you return to Warwick. Below are some resources and activities available at Warwick to support you during your final year.
