As you may expect from employers within the sector, not all will have a graduate scheme or graduate positions available but all employers will talk to you about how to explore your career options, gain volunteering experience and how best to shape your choices within the sector.

The Workwear Wardrobe initiative has been created with the University’s overall strategy of sustainability in mind and aims to help you build a workwear wardrobe in an affordable way ahead of interviews, assessment centres and gaining work experience.

Air Ambulance Service

The Air Ambulance Service operates the national Children’s Air Ambulance and the local air ambulance services for Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Our vision is clear. To ensure children grow into adults, for adults to live longer and for families to stay together, as bereavement through trauma becomes rare.

Each of our services works tirelessly to save lives and alleviate sickness, wherever and whenever possible.

Aquarius

We are a charity with services across the Midlands, supporting people affected by alcohol, drugs and gambling. We have over 40 years’ experience providing evidence-based, high quality services to help change behaviour and change lives. Our focus in on understanding problem behaviours and finding alternative ways to cope. Our support focuses on enabling people to understand and change their behaviour and thought processes, and ultimately achieve their recovery goals.

Ark Schools

Ark is a network of 39 schools in the UK, in Birmingham, Hastings, London and Portsmouth.

Each of our schools has its own distinctive character, reflecting its local community. Our aim is to create outstanding schools that give every student, regardless of their background, the opportunity to go to university or pursue the career of their choice.

We’ve used our expertise in teacher development to create a supportive two-year Early Career Teacher programme. Throughout the programme, teachers are supported by a dedicated in-school Early Careers Framework Leader and Coach to ensure they successfully pass their induction period and continue to impact the classroom positively. The programme offers a blend of clinics, conferences and self-study modules as well as dedicated in-school mentoring.

Charityworks

A paid, 12 month talent programme which gives you all the tools you need to build a career in the UK not for profit sector. As a Charityworks Trainee, you will deliver a full time job in a partner charity or housing association, and take part in an acclaimed leadership programme which will introduce you to what you need to work and lead. You’ll build experience of the sector, gain an understanding of the key issues, and have access to a national network dedicated to making a difference. You’ll do a real job in a placement organisation ranging from national charities like AgeUK and NSPCC to award-winning local housing associations like Polar HARCA in the East End of London to national organisations like the National Housing Federation.

Citizens Advice Bureau

Coventry Citizens Advice has been part of the fabric of the city of Coventry for nearly 75 years. It is one of the largest and most well-known Third Sector organisations in the city, with a reputation for high quality provision of advice services. We provide free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities.

City Year

City Year is a leading youth and education charity in London, Birmingham and Manchester. We believe young people can change the world, so we recruit outstanding and passionate volunteers for a year of community action.

We serve in schools in deprived communities, acting as tutors and mentors. We tackle two of the UK’s biggest social welfare issues: educational under-attainment and youth unemployment. City Year is the only youth movement that delivers a combination of breakfast club provision, one-to-one tutoring support, enforcement of school behaviour policies and fun after-school clubs – all rolled into one.

Coach Bright

We are a social mobility charity on a mission to support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to become confident, independent and resilient so they can lead the lives they want. We partner with Primary and Secondary schools and universities in England to run face-to-face and virtual coaching programmes. Through partnering young people with relatable role models, we aim to raise their confidence, independence and attainment.

Equality and Inclusion Partnership

The Equality and Inclusion Partnership (EQuIP) is registered CIO, established in 2016 and built upon several decades in race, all equalities and discrimination work. EQuIP provides a casework service tackling discrimination, specialising in community engagement, promotes diversity through the Equality Network and offers training and development to individuals, groups and organisations to support diversity and inclusion for all.

Frontline

At Frontline – England’s largest social work charity – everything we do aims to make life better for children who need a social worker, to help keep them safe from harm and to give them every possible chance to fulfil their potential. Our mission is to create social change for children and families, by developing excellent social work practice, leadership and innovation. Kings Camp

Kings Camps operate children’s sports and activity programmes in the school holidays. Whether you’re looking for an opportunity in your home or study city, we have amazing roles coaching sports and activities, teaching life skills such as swimming and even leadership roles to develop your CV. Our programme is designed to bring out the best in every child, regardless of their ability, through a wide range of active games and sports during the school holiday. It provides a screen-free, active and fun week, where children are grouped with others of a similar age, to participate in sports, learn new skills, make friends and develop confidence.

At The Myton Hospices, we believe that everyone matters for every single moment of their life, we focus on enhancing life when cure is no longer an option; supporting people living with a terminal illness, and their families, from the point of diagnosis to end of life.

We are leaders in compassionate end of life care; our work centres on patient wellbeing and involving them in decisions about their care. Perhaps most importantly we give our patients more quality time with their loved ones.

Smart Works Birmingham

Smart Works is an award-winning UK charity that provides interview clothing, styling advice and interview coaching to women in need. We play a vital role in reconnecting women to their confidence and self belief and empower women to succeed at interview and achieve financial stability. 69% of the women that we see go on to get the job and change the trajectory of their lives.

Teach First

University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire

UHCW Charity support patients in University Hospital, Coventry and The Hospital of St Cross, Rugby. We make a real difference to healthcare in the Midlands, by enhancing the treatment and care of patients, so that it is above and beyond that provided by the NHS. We improve the environment for patients and staff, equipment that makes a real difference to patient care, medical knowledge through research and support staff development and training.

Unlocked Graduates

Located within West Midlands Police as the host force but working for Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP).
