DLHE consultation summer 2016
National consultation: DLHE
A national consultation has been launched to consider what data should be collected on the employment circumstances of UK university graduates. The main source of data is currently the Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education survey (DLHE).
The consultation represents a fundamental review and any changes could have a significant impact at Warwick. The DLHE results are used in the main University league tables and will form part of the proposed TEF assessments linked to HE funding.
What the consultation covers
The consultation covers four key areas:
- Linking data from other sources (eg HMRC for salary data) and using a survey to collect data only the graduate could provide
- A review of what DLHE should collect, including new questions for self-evaluation of what equals a successful outcome
- A review of the date of the DLHE survey (currently six months after completion)
- Considering the benefits of centralising the DLHE survey, rather than institutions carrying out the survey themselves
How you can contribute
The University Steering Committee will be submitting a response to the consultation and your views would be very much appreciated. The survey below summarises the key themes. Please answer as many questions as you can, but do not feel you need to answer every question if you don’t have a view.
