Danya Nusseir
Danya Nusseir started her PhD at the IER in 2020, exploring the role of digital literacy in integrating marginalised communities. In her research, Danya focuses on Arab refugee women's access to labour markets in Jordan, Lebanon and the UK. Her research was qualitative and involved interviews and document or policy reviews. Danya was awarded her PhD in early 2025 and is now based in the UK, working as an independent consultant, as well as being on the Board of Trustees for a UK Charity.
In addition to her PhD in Employment Research from the University of Warwick, Danya holds a BSc (2006) in Computer Science and Business Administration from the University of Kent, an MBA (2014) from the University of Kingston; and has also completed an MSc. (2020) in Social Policy and Social Research from University College London (UCL).
She has over fifteen years of experience conducting research for businesses, academic institutions, international development organisations, governments and NGOs. Her research spans different sectors including Information Communication Technology (ICT), media, peacebuilding, marginalised communities, digital skills, education and integration. Prior to starting her PhD, Danya held senior management and executive leadership roles in organisations, leading diverse teams of up to 30 team members.
