AI skills for life and work
This work explores the intersection of patent data and labour market activity to understand the potential impact of AI technologies. While patents have long been used to track technological trends, little research has linked them to workforce outcomes.
The study takes an innovative and exploratory approach, using patent data as a leading indicator of AI-driven change.
By analysing patent content, we aim to identify connections between AI advancements and labour market shift, whether through direct implications for tasks and occupations, or indirect links via affected industries. The findings will be integrated with AI-related job vacancy analysis and used to refine labour market projections, contributing to future workforce planning and policy discussions.
