My personal motivations

The most rewarding part of the work that I undertook was the impact it had on the Warwick community. Even though my days are always packed, I always feel that it is worth it when I have filled them with work that I am passionate about which is also helping those around me.

Giving back to those around me has always been extremely important to me, and this remains my sole driving force for all the work I undertake. I love knowing that I am working towards making a difference, even if it is a small one!

My top 3 tips for students

  • Find your passion: There is a plethora of opportunities out there, but it is extremely important to work on areas that you are passionate about so that you can enjoy the experience while giving back to community.
  • Don’t do it just for your CV: If you are doing something just so that it looks good on your CV, it will never become an enriching experience. I’ve learnt that everything you do should be with the intent of learning and to give back to those around us!
  • Do not burn out! It is very important to undertake work within your capacity as university is very busy as it is. I know from experience that is becomes easy to stretch yourself too thin, but I’ve learnt that your best work comes with a mind that is at peace!

Support and recognition from Warwick

The staff in my department (Psychology) have always been extremely supportive of my work, especially as Student Experience Coordinator. They have always been supportive of my ideas and made sure to appreciate all the effort that goes into the role. I know I can always count on them for support when I need it!

My highlights

From day one, I have enjoyed every part of my course! My department has made me feel truly at home through all the support and opportunities it has given me. Working with the Warwick India Forum was an amazing experience as the society became a family to me. Last but most certainly not the least, while finding the right friends took time, my friends are my main highlight from my time at Warwick and I’m so grateful I get to stay here for 4.5 more years for my Masters and PhD!
