Verification for Third Parties (such as employers, agencies and embassies)

Attendance/Award Verification

Third party enquirers such as employers, agencies and embassies must verify attendance and awards from with our partner, Prospects Hedd. We are not able to process verification requests received directly to the University. A Hedd verification confirms:

  • Candidate’s name
  • Qualification type
  • Course name
  • Year of award
  • Classification obtained
  • Dates of attendance

The third party should visit www.hedd.ac.ukLink opens in a new window to register. There is a small charge for each enquiry and written consent of the individual must be provided with the enquiry. To prevent delays, please enter the candidate’s award details as they appear on their certificate.

The University reviews and completes verifications regularly. One you submit an enquiry via the Hedd system, you’ll find the expected completion date listed on your enquiry.

If you require further assistance, please email heddhelp@prospects.ac.uk.

Alumni should not register with Hedd directly- this service is for third parties only.

Digital Documents

Eligible alumni will have access to a digital certificate or HEAR (transcript) via Gradintel. Documents on Gradintel are designed to be used digitally, and alumni can use the 'share' function to share documents securely with third parties. You should only accept the document shared directly via Gradintel- this is to ensure this is valid and up-to-date.

If you do not accept digital documents, or the candidate is not eligible for digital documents (e.g. due to year of award) we recommend following the instructions to request award verification via Hedd. If you require to see original documentation, alternatively the alumni may order an authorised copy of their certificate, or a printed transcript (fees apply for these services) to be posted directly from the University. Please advise the candidate on your requirements so that they can make the relevant request.
