myAdvantage Privacy Notice

The University of Warwick will process your personal data, which you provided through the enrolment process, for the purposes of providing you with information to support you in developing your employability, academic and transferable skills and to enable you to access Student Opportunity services (and careers services provided to you by your academic department using the myAdvantage platform) whilst a student and a graduate.

The University will also process your personal data, including data on your attendance at Student Opportunity activities, for the purposes of analysis and research to better understand your needs and how engagement varies between different groups. This includes processing of ethnicity data for diversity monitoring purposes to ensure inclusive service design.

Data on your attendance at Student Opportunity activities may also be shared with other University departments.

If an event is provided by an organisation external to the University of Warwick (eg an employer), you can choose at the time of booking if you would like to share your name with the external provider.

The legal basis for processing your personal data is legitimate interest. If you do not wish for your personal data to be shared with Student Opportunity, you can update your preferences at: www.warwick.ac.uk/evision. You can also choose which communications you wish to receive from Student Opportunity by clicking on your name within your myAdvantage account.

Your personal data will not be shared or disclosed to any third parties external to the University of Warwick (unless you opt to share your name with an external event provider, as described above). Your personal data will not be transferred outside of the UK, will be kept securely by the University of Warwick and will be retained in accordance with the University’s Record Retention Schedule: www.warwick.ac.uk/services/idc/recordsmanagement

The University of Warwick is the Data Controller of this information and is committed to protecting the rights of individuals in line with Data Protection Legislation. You have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data. You also have the right to restrict processing, the right to object, and the right to data portability.
