Draft schedule

We expect about 14 participants at C3, representing all the partners. These representatives are:

  • UEF: Ilkka Jormanainen, Markku Tukiainen, Tapani Toivonen
  • Warwick: Meurig Beynon, Elizabeth Hudnott, Nick Pope, Mike Joy (Monday-Tuesday)
  • Helix5: Piet Kommers
  • Edinburgh: Hamish Macleod
  • Comenius: Peter Tomcsanyi, Michal Winczer
  • Edumotiva: Dimitris Alimisis, Manolis Zoulias, Rene Alimisi (Mon afternoon - Friiday)

In the timetable below, people are referenced by their initials. The names highlighted in bold are the representatives of the partners on the project management committee. They will play a core role in M3: the third transnational project meeting (TPM).

The TPM will take place on Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning, and will be organised in parallel with other activities of a more practical nature that constitute the programme for C3. Following a pattern that is somewhat similar to that adopted at C2 in Athens in September 2015, the principal focus for C3 will be on external dissemination/evaluation, which in this case will take the form of a seminar to which colleagues associated with related projects based at UEF will be invited to contribute (primarily by giving feedback). This will take place on Wednesday 14th September.

The general programme for the C3-M3 meeting and the key themes and activities we have in mind are listed in the draft schedule below. (Timings are guidelines only at this stage. The default venue for our meetings is Room 2D309 in the Science Park Building, Länsikatu 15, 80110 Joensuu. There is also a possibility of a visit to a nearby local school but this is still to be confirmed - this would ideally take place at a time that did not conflict with the TPM.)

      End of meeting

For the parallel sessions S3, S4, S5 and S6, not all the project team members will wish to be involved in the TPM discussions which only the core members who represent the patners on the project management committee need attend. As at C2, without imposing any strict rules on how team members may wish to contribute, we have established informal groupings based on three themes, broadly concerned with technical matters, evaluation, and strategy. Suggested affiliations might be:

  • Technical: PT, MZ, EH, NP, MW, TT, MB
  • Evaluation: DA, RA, EH, PK, HM, MT, MB
  • Strategy: MJ, DA, PK, HM, MW, MT, MB

In the planning sessions S4-S8 that lead up to the mini-conference on Wednesday 14th September, it will be appropriate to establish specific subgroups to prepare resources (e.g. presentations, demo examples. workshop-style activities) for the mini-conference sessions S9-S12. The suggested content for these sessions is set out in the Notes column on the right: this is provisional at this stage, and the order and actual topics addressed might well be changed. What is presented may also be influenced by the external participants who will be able to attend. There are several sessions at which it may be useful to have Skype connections in place with key team members who are unable to attend in person, such as Steve Russ, Jonathan Fooss and Antony Harfield.
