HEAR and Transcripts

HEAR
The HEAR is a form of transcript, and acts as a cumulative, formative record until a student graduates, at which stage it is finalised and becomes the formal official record of study. This includes information on course content, modules completed, marks, credits (including ECTS credits), degree classification, conferral of award date, the signature of the academic registrar, an official University of Warwick stamp, additional approved activities e.g. departmental prizes, elected society positions, volunteering certificates etc. All Undergraduate students who have graduated from July 2012 onwards will have access to a HEAR. If you need guidance with accessing your HEAR please contact usLink opens in a new window.
All current undergraduate students will be issued a HEAR which is accessed via GradIntel. HEARs are refreshed on or shortly after results release dates in July each year to show the conferral of the degree and will include marks where possible. The marks shown are as provided by the academic department responsible for the module. Please contact your department in the first instance if there are any issues/missing marks.
Additional activities for section 6.1 will also be uploaded on results release dates, where available in time, and we will continue to refresh the relevant HEARs in August as we verify and add further additional activities.
Transcripts
A transcript is an official summary of academic performance, including qualification obtained, modules taken and marks achieved. It also details your University start date, programme of study, level and degree class conferred (as appropriate). The transcript is a legal University document and therefore cannot be altered, or sent via email.
Official printed transcripts are normally only produced for postgraduate taught students (where applicable) at the time of graduation and will be issued together with award certificates where possible. Please note that we are not permitted to email copies of transcripts.
If you require additional copies of your transcript, or you are a graduate who has access to a HEAR but needs a printed transcript, or for a transcript to be posted directly to a third party, you can find out more and order here (fees apply)Link opens in a new window.
Please be aware that not all departments in the University will hold historic marks and transcripts, if a transcript is unavailable, a 'Letter in Lieu' will be offered. This letter will include your course start and end dates, conferral date, and a note stating that your marks are not available. A full refund will be made for orders where a transcript cannot be provided.
GPA Conversion
We do not provide marks as a GPA (Grade Point Average) because the UK uses a distinct grading system based on degree classifications (like First Class, Upper Second Class) which are calculated from overall percentage marks rather than a single numerical average like a GPA.
You would need to use a third-party provider if applying to an institution that requires GPA.
