The Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) is an official electronic document that provides a comprehensive record of a student’s academic achievements and verified extracurricular activities during their studies.
It replaces the traditional printed academic transcript for undergraduate students. It is an internationally recognised document that replaces the University Diploma Supplement and Transcript.
Yes, HEAR documents can be refreshed or updated in certain cases:
-
Alumni: If you have completed your studies you may request an updated HEAR if there are verified achievements, corrections, or errors in their original record. Please note that updates are generally only possible within a certain timeframe after graduation. For requests outside this period, updates may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Current students: HEARs reflect your most recent academic record. You can request an updated version once new marks or achievements are added.
-
Exchange students: If your HEAR includes modules or achievements from an exchange programme, updates may be issued once all verified results are recorded.
Please contact the transcripts team for assistance with refreshing your HEAR.
If a mark from a previous academic year is incorrect on your HEAR, please contact your department in the first instance as the transcripts team cannot make amendments to your marks. Once your department has confirmed the correct mark is showing on your record, the transcripts team will then be able to refresh the HEAR with the corrected information.
Please note that your complete, finalised HEAR may not be available until mid/late August in the year of graduation due to validation and recording of your academic data and the coding of data for Section 6.1 (the approved "Additional Information" section). Where possible degree and module results (excluding 6.1), will be made available via your HEAR shortly before the graduation ceremonies.
Once you have activated your account, you should login in to your GradIntel AccountLink opens in a new windowLink opens in a new window.

All eligible undergraduate students will receive an email to your University email address (approximately at the start of term 2 of your first year) which will provide further details of the GradIntel registration process. You need take no action until you receive this email.
Please note it is important to not amend the email address linked to the GradIntel account until after you have completed the degree. Changing the email address will cause issues with updating you HEAR.

A traditional academic transcript lists:
-
Modules studied
-
Marks achieved
-
Credits obtained
-
Degree classification
The HEAR includes all of the above, plus:
-
Programme information
-
Prizes and awards
-
Verified extracurricular achievements
-
Additional recognised activities
The HEAR therefore provides a broader picture of a student’s achievements.
The HEAR is issued electronically via GradIntel. Students can securely share access with employers or other institutions.
Current Undergraduate Students who have not had their award conferred by the Senate should make use of the formative HEAR. Please see section B on how to share your formative HEAR report with an employer.
Your agreed award, overall degree classification and marks/credits will be made available where possible in July - this is entirely dependent on when the Senate (or Senate Subgroup) officially confers your award and when your module marks are fully processed. Your home department is responsible for processing module marks (including component marks) and credits onto the central system that the HEAR pulls information from directly. Departments may choose to indicate results to students informally but not load/process them on the system until later. Updating the HEAR is a manual (not automatic) process and can be slow due to the vast amount of information that transfers from the University's central system to Gradintel.
Please note that at this time the office will not update individual HEARs as our priority will be a bulk upload of all HEARs and preparing for degree congregations.
Academic transcripts, including detailed module results, marks, and credit information, are issued separately from the degree certificate.
Please note the following:
- Academic transcripts and module transcripts are not automatically issued at the time of graduation.
- A formal application is required to obtain official transcripts. This can be completed online via the University’s transcript request system Transcript Order Form, and a fee may apply.
- International postal delivery is available, and you may provide your home country address when submitting the request.
For an exchange student, the "not yet certified" label is the standard, permanent phrase because they are not completing a qualification.
No. The University's regulations require that transcripts should record all results during your time at the University, so that they accurately reflect your student record. It is therefore not possible to remove any of the modules from your previous course - but don't worry about this. It is not uncommon for students to change course, and you will have had good reasons for wanting to change, which you can explain to anyone who asks. It may also be an advantage to be able to demonstrate that you have some knowledge/experience of areas relevant to these previous modules.
You can regain access to your account by using the online account recovery process. Go to: GradIntel Account RecoveryLink opens in a new windowLink opens in a new window. Yes. The HEAR is an official university document and is fully verified in its digital format.
Yes, if your institution is one of our partners then you can share your HEAR (or other digital document) with WES using the share process above.
The email address to use when sharing your document with WES is gradintel@wes.org. For more information regarding sharing your documents with WES, please visit https://www.wes.org/required-documentsLink opens in a new window.
If an activity from a previous academic year is incorrect or not present on your HEAR please contact the Transcripts Team via email: aotranscriptswarwick.ac.uk.
The Transcripts team will then contact the designated member of staff who will confirm if the relevant activity can be added to the HEAR. The transcripts team cannot add activities without this confirmation. Once verified, we will then be able to update your HEAR with this activity.
To proceed, please make payment using the same link provided for the Transcript Order Form. In the Additional Information section however, please state that the payment is for the Diploma Supplement.
Please note that preparation of the Diploma Supplement may take some time, as the information included in the document must be provided and confirmed by your home department.
For graduating students, the official University HEAR (Higher Education Achievement Report) will normally be available in mid to late August in the year of graduation. This follows the same release schedule that previously applied to academic transcripts and is issued after final results have been confirmed and your award has been formally conferred by Senate.
For current students, the HEAR is updated periodically to reflect confirmed academic results.
You will be notified when your HEAR is available to access via GradIntel.
The HEAR draws together information from other records. If you feel that there are errors or omissions, you should contact your faculty registry team, detailing where you believe there is a mistake and we will endeavour to address and get back to you as quickly as possible.
Undergraduate students who graduated from July 2012 onwards have access to their transcript electronically in the form of a Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR).
The data required to produce a HEAR is not available for students who graduated prior to July 2012. Those who graduated before this date may be able to request a Diploma Supplement; however, this depends on whether the relevant department has retained the necessary course and programme information. You may contact us to check whether a Diploma Supplement is available for your course.
Please note that an electronic transcript via GradIntel is not available for Master’s students who graduated prior to Summer 2025.
If you require a paper transcript, please submit your request via our transcript webpage. Before placing an order, please read the information in the red box on that page carefully, as there are certain courses for which we do NOT process transcript orders. Please also note that current students who have not yet graduated and whose award has not yet been formally conferred by Senate are not eligible to request final transcripts.
There are many reasons that we have introduced a HEAR but most particularly, we recognise that the life beyond University is extremely competitive and we want to do all we can to help you prepare for life after graduation.
The traditional degree certificate alone doesn’t reflect the range and depth of knowledge, skills and experience which you can gain at university and it doesn’t provide employers and post graduate recruiters with all of the information they need to know about you when you complete your course of study.
The HEAR can help you to tell a richer story of the knowledge, skills and experience you gained during your time at university.
