Publishing

The Publishing industry develops and distributes literature for different audiences. It includes trade publishing (which covers fiction, non-fiction and children’s books for general readers) but also academic and scholarly publishing, educational publishing, professional publishing, journals, magazines and digital copy.

This means publishing careers are much wider than many first expect. Editorial work is very popular but the industry also includes roles in production, design, marketing, publicity, sales, rights, audio and audience development. You could be working on books, journals, online platforms, learning materials or specialist information for researchers and professionals.
