Research Fellow post at IER
The IER is seeking to appoint an outstanding Research Fellow, and invites candidates with interests in any of the Institute’s diverse fields of research to apply, in particular candidates with strong quantitative research skills. This is an opportunity for a researcher who wants to make a difference with their research by getting involved in policy-relevant research.

Automation, Artificial intelligence (AI) and the labour market
On 15 April Gianni Anelli Lopez, PhD student at IER, delivered a one-day course on automation, AI and the labour market at the Department for Continuing Education, University of Oxford.
He presented major studies on automation, the use of online data to measure skills in online advertisements and discussed public policy recommendations.
Public procurement as a policy tool
A recently published book chapter (in German) by IER's Dr Katharina Sarter explores the role of public procurement as a policy tool for promoting gender equality. Book details are available via the publisher's website.
How can public services face a changing world?
Together with Dr Elizabeth Cookingham Bailey from the University of York, IER's Dr Katharina Sarter published a blog contribution that examines the changing environment that public services face and the approaches public services take to adapt to a changing environment.
Platformisation of work
In collaboration with the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC), Dr Sally Wright co-authored a report on platformisation of work in Europe.
The report provides a first approximation to the emerging phenomenon of platformisation of work, with an empirical analysis of data from the new JRC Algorithmic Management and Platform Work survey (AMPWork) in Spain and Germany.
