Authorised Certificate Copies
Digital Certificates: If you are an alumnus of the University of Warwick with at least one award or degree certificate issued between 1 January 2009 and 30 April 2021, you may be interested in the University’s digital certificate service (which is free), instead of printed authorised copies of a certificate. To read more and apply for a digital certificate, please visit our web page.
Please complete this form if you would like to request printed authorised copies of your original certificate/s. An authorised certificate copy is a black and white photocopy of your original certificate, stamped and signed confirming that the copy is genuine. An authorised certificate copy can be helpful where you do not wish to send your original to a third party, or where you do not wish to have third party stamps applied to your original. Authorised certificate copies are often accepted by other universities when making an application for courses or by prospective employers.
The University does not keep copies of certificates, so we will need you to attach a full size clean scan of your certificate/s (along with your proof of ID documents, e.g. passport, driving licence), in order to proceed with your request. There is no charge for this service.
Authorised certificate copies will normally be processed and dispatched within 2 working days of receipt, however, please note that during graduation periods (January and July) it may not be possible to process your request until after the ceremonies/posting of original certificates. Should you encounter any difficulty around these busy periods, you may also find it helpful to request a Confirmation of Award letter.
The University is not able to scan and email authorised certificate copies of certificates to you, so, please provide your postal address below (or instructions for collection and we will contact you when it is ready).
Please note: The University cannot issue authorised copies (i.e. stamped and signed photocopies) of academic transcripts. Any transcripts attached to a request for authorised certificate copies will not be processed. If you require an official academic transcript (where you do not already have access to a HEAR record via your Gradintel account), you should order these separately (fees apply), via the Transcript request form.
