Student Voice

The Department of History actively seeks feedback from our students about how we are doing and how we can improve. If you would like to give feedback, share an idea or make a complaint, there are several ways you can do this. Please see our Student Voice website for further information:

Student Representation

We take your views seriously and are always keen to hear suggestions about how to improve your research experience or about any anxieties you might have. Please contact the Director of PGR or your student representative by email, or attend one of the regular Student Voice drop-in'sLink opens in a new window where you can raise any comments or suggestions.

More formally, one or more Student Representatives will be chosen at the start of each academic year, and will sit on the Department's Research Committee. They can feed your thoughts (from the drop-ins or through other contact with you) to the History Department via the Research Committee, and report back to you about departmental plans.

The Student Representative(s) will be selected at the start of each academic year.

Feedback and Surveys

PRES

The PRES is a national survey of postgraduate research students inviting them to comment on their experience. PRES is for any PGR student researching at the University of Warwick, including part-time and distance learning students.

The survey lets us know what is working well and what's not, helping us make things better. Responses from you help us improve both our current and future support, enabling us to do better for all of our Postgraduate Researchers.

PRES

In the latest survey (2023) students gave the History department an 89% satisfaction rating. This was one of the highest scores in the Arts Faculty for a large Department, and 5% higher than both the Russell Group and Global average.

We would like to maintain this high level of satisfaction and would like to work with you to ensure this, so do please contact us if anything is detracting from your research experience or you have ideas about how to improve it further.

Graduate Outcomes Survey

The Graduate Outcomes survey collects information on the activities and perspectives of graduates approximately 15 months after completion. The survey covers UG, PGT and PGR students, home and overseas, full- and part-time. It is conducted by the Higher Education Statistics Agency and is the biggest annual social survey in the UK. The results provide an insight into the career destinations of recent graduates, which shapes both the delivery of services in Higher Education as well as influencing the government's understanding of the needs of the graduate labour market.
