BBSRC MIBTP
MIBTP is a BBSRC-funded doctoral training partnership between five research-intensive universities, the University of Warwick, the University of Birmingham, the University of Leicester, Aston University and Harper Adams University. We deliver innovative, world-class research training across the Life Sciences. Applications for PhD scholarships are invited from strong students (in biology, chemistry and physical sciences) who wish to undertake research projects in: Sustainable Agriculture and Food, Renewable Resources and Clean Growth, Understanding the Rules of Life and Integrated Understanding of Health.

EPSRC Doctoral Scholarships

EUTOPIA PhD Studentships

PATHWAY PhD Studentships
The PATHWAY PhD scheme is aimed at Warwick PhD applicants who self-identify as being either Black or of Black heritage. Students can be hosted in any department, and can pursue any topic. Please note that PhD applicants cannot apply directly for this scheme. Eligible candidates should contact the academic department which issued their PhD offer to express their interest in being nominated for this award.
Eligibility: Nominees must self-identify as being either Black or of Black heritage. Nominees must be current Warwick PhD offer holders and must not already be enrolled on a PhD programme at the University of Warwick. Nominees must receive an offer to start a PhD at the University of Warwick in October 2025 by 2nd May 2025 at the latest.
Value: The full payment of tuition fees (either Home or Overseas) and a maintenance stipend paid at the prevailing UKRI rate for 3.5 years.

Department of Politics and International Studies
The Department of Politics and International Studies welcomes applications: (1) for an independent project focusing on the institutional trade-offs involving returnees in a future international mediation in Ukraine and/or the global impact of the Russian invasion on displacement; and (2) on the topic of Gender and Return in Post-Conflict Societies. Candidates will be considered for a full-time, 3.5-year PhD position plus a stipend at UKRI rates. Positions are open to both home and international students through a grant funded by the UKRI- Horizon Europe Guarantee (ERC) project PEACERETURN (PI: Professor Neophytos Loizides) at the University of Warwick.

A*STAR Research Attachment Programme (ARAP)
The Warwick - A*STAR Research Attachment Programme offers fully funded 4 year PhD studentships in Interdisciplinary Research, with students spending 2 years at Warwick and 2 years in Singapore at an A*STAR institute.

China Scholarship Council (CSC) - University of Warwick Scholarships
The University is delighted to announce the China Scholarships Council (CSC) / University of Warwick Scholarships. For entry in Autumn 2025, there will be 30 scholarships available to students who meet the CSC criteria applying to any PhD discipline.
Eligibility: PhD applicants and first year PhD students who meet the CSC critieria
Value: The University will cover the full payment of overseas tuition fees for the duration of the CSC funding period and a stipend enhancement; China Scholarships Council will provide a maintenance stipend and return international airfare between the UK and China for successful applicants.

Doctoral Access Scholarships - Sanctuary
We are offering a limited number of fully funded scholarships for postgraduate research students. These scholarships are offered as part of the Warwick Sanctuary Scholarships at the University of Warwick.
You may also be able seek support from cara.ngo, who help academics from any country in the world, on any continent, who are being forced to flee.

Feuer International Scholarship in Artificial Intelligence
Warwick Manufacturing Group
The Feuer International Scholarships in Artificial Intelligence are prestigious and highly competitive PhD scholarships. Funded by successful Warwick alumnus Jonathan Feuer, they were established to create a group of extremely talented, academically brilliant, world-leading young researchers who will go on to have careers in the field of Artificial Intelligence. Aimed at attracting outstanding students from across the world, the fully funded PhD scholarships will support young people from across all academic disciplines to contribute to world-changing research in the development and deployment of trustworthy AI. The scholarship programme is part of the University’s internationally recognised Cyber Security Global Research Priority and scholars will have access to industry partners and mentoring opportunities.
Eligibility: PhD applicants - You must have, or be about to graduate with, a first class BSc Honours degree or international equivalent. Ideally you will also possess, or be about to be awarded, a Masters level degree with distinction. This funding is open to home, EU and international applicants.

Department of History
The department of History are offering two project specific studentships:
Project: The Hakluyt Society has published hundreds of travel accounts mostly of European colonial ‘discovery’. Yet despite its celebration of Elizabethan empire-builders, support for Victorian explorers and connections with the Royal Geographical Society and India Office, it has never before been studied in relation to British imperial culture and its public legacies.
Value: The studentship covers full payment of tuition fees for 4 years (full-time) plus an annual stipend at the UKRI rate. Additional funding opportunities include a Research Development Fund (RDF) to support primary research activities, an Engagement Fund (EF) to enable students to attend conferences and undertake placements and other professional development activity, and a Cohort Development Fund (CDF) which supports groups of Midlands4Cities students to design training, development and research activities.

Title: PhD Studentship - M4C CDA - Warwickshire Identities: Early Modern Archival Perspectives
Project: This project, in collaboration with Warwickshire County Record Office, investigates the construction, interpretation, and definition of local ‘belonging’ between c.1500 and 1750. Focusing on early modern Warwickshire, it examines how people viewed and represented themselves in relation to their neighbours, the county community, wider political nation, and emerging global connections.

Department of History - PhD Scholarships
The Wheeler History of Travel Writing PhD Scholarships
As part of the newly established Wheeler History of Travel Writing Programme, the Department of History, through its Global History and Cultures Centre, is inviting applications for up to two PhD studentships for 2025/26 entry in the History of Travel and Travel Writing.
Eligibility: UK/Home and Overseas fee status. Applicants must apply to Warwick for a History MPhil/PhD to begin in Autumn 2025 (there is no separate application process for the Wheeler studentships but candidates should indicate on their application that they wish to be considered for it).

Department of Politics and International Studies - PhD Scholarships
The Department of Politics and International Studies at the University of Warwick is pleased to announce a competition for PhD scholarships. These department funded scholarships are aimed at any candidate starting their PhD in PAIS in October 2025, or any current PAIS PhD candidate in their first year of study. Because women are underrepresented in this field, one departmental scholarship will be reserved for a female candidate.
Eligibility: UK/Home, EU and Overseas fee status. Applicants must apply to a PAIS PhD programme at Warwick for entry in Autumn 2025. Current PAIS PhD students in their first year of study are eligible to apply.
Value: There are varying types of scholarship award offered. Some include the payment of full academic fees and a maintenance grant in line with the UKRI standard stipend for up to 3.5 years, others are for academic fees only.

Department of Psychology
Four PhD Fellowships in Psychology
We are delighted to announce that up to four Departmental PhD Fellowships will be available for students wishing to start a PhD in October 2025. Three of these fellowships are specifically for projects supervised by Dr Alex Clarke, Dr Maria Robinson and Dr Chiara Gambi. One of these fellowships is open to applicants with their choice of primary and secondary supervisors. You can find a list of our academics and their research interests here.
Eligibility: Applicants should, as a minimum, have an Upper Second Class undergraduate degree in Psychology or a related field, but preferably a First Class undergraduate degree or a Master’s distinction in Psychology or a related field. International qualifications that are equivalent to UK qualifications are also acceptable. In addition to the academic entry requirements, successful International applicants are also required to satisfy the English language entry requirements. Please note that Psychology is a Band B subject.
Value: These Fellowships pay tuition fees at the ‘Home’ (UK) rate of £4,906** for 2025/26 (part-time £2,934.60*) and a maintenance grant of £20,140** (part-time £12,084*) per annum for three years. International students are welcome to apply. *Part time is at 60% and both fees due and any stipend awards will be adjusted accordingly. **Home UK PGR tuition fees and stipend awards for 2025-26 onwards are subject to UKRI funding rate changes and are therefore not yet confirmed. Fees and stipends are expected to increase and the inflation rate applied by UKRI is generally expected to be in line with RPI.

Eligibility: You must have applied for a SJTU-Warwick Joint PhD to begin in Autumn 2025. There is no other nationality or discipline criteria.
