Upload and create video in the eStream portal

This guide details how to upload videos into and create videos in the eStream portal, the media hosting platform at Warwick. This guide applies to staff only.

Upload videos into eStream

  1. Login to eStream using your University IT username and password.
  2. Click on Create, in the top bar, and select Upload.
  3. Drag & drop your file or click on the upload icon to select the video file from your device.
  4. Enter the video details:
    • Title and description.
    • Options: select the Publishing Policy for your video:
      • Standard (No network / IP restrictions): For when you plan to use embed code to deliver content
      • Internal Only (Restricted to Warwick network / IP range)
      • Student Content (no network / IP restrictions): For when students should see content in the eStream portal (not embedded in another site)
    • Options: Select Categories (optional) to select the categories you wish your video to appear in, for example your department. If you wish (other) students to see this video you MUST also select the category "Warwick Students". Click Confirm Selection.
    • Options: tick Select to make the content private.
      • This setting ensures the video owner is the only user able to find and view the video. For guides on sharing your video, see the related guides below.
  5. Click Confirm to complete upload.
  6. Check the settings of your video. Click on Add More to add additional video files.
  7. Click Start Upload. The video(s) will be converted into a web friendly format. The conversion process might take a few minutes.
  8. You will receive an email once the upload is complete.

Create videos directly in eStream using the Web Recorder

Please note, the eStream Web Recorder is compatible with Google Chrome web browser only.
  1. Login to eStream using your University IT username and password.
  2. Click on Create, in the top bar, and select Web Recorder.
    • If this is your first time using the Web Recorder, you will be prompted to add the Planet eStream Screen Capture extension to your Google Chrome browser.
  3. Select which screen or application you want to be recorded and click Share.
  4. You might be prompted to allow the use of your microphone.
  5. Click on the record icon to start the recording. Click the record icon again to pause.
  6. Click the stop recording icon to stop the recording.
  7. Enter details about the video:
    • Title and description.
    • Options: select the Publishing Policy for your video:
      • Standard (No network / IP restrictions): For when you plan to use embed code to deliver content
      • Internal Only (Restricted to Warwick network / IP range)
      • Student Content (no network / IP restrictions): For when students should see content in the eStream portal (not embedded in another site)
    • Options: tick Select to make the content private.

  8. Select Upload Recording.
